The People’s Centre of Excellence CIC is dedicated to empowering young people and the professionals who support them by addressing key challenges in education, mental health, and social development. We collaborate with a wide range of organisations and experts to create targeted programs that support vulnerable young people, particularly those in care, those struggling with mainstream education, and those at risk of entering the criminal justice system. We also focus on helping post-16 individuals who are at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), offering mentorship and guidance for alternative career paths, including entrepreneurial ventures.
Our work centres on developing power skills—such as resilience, problem-solving, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence—which are essential for success in both life and work. Through mentorship, training, and support services, we help young people build confidence, improve their mental health, and prepare for future career paths or entrepreneurial ventures. Our programs also provide bereavement support and training in areas like healthy relationships, boundaries, and social skills.
In addition to supporting young people, we offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for adults working with vulnerable individuals—such as educators, mentors, and mental health professionals—equipping them with the tools to better support those in need. By offering human aspects training, critical incident training and ongoing professional support, we aim to build stronger, more capable networks for young people and communities.
We are committed to breaking generational cycles of disadvantage and providing sustainable, lifelong skills that can positively impact individuals and communities. By working alongside other organisations and securing funding through grants, we aim to implement pilot programs that address critical gaps in mental health support and entrepreneurial development, helping individuals realise their full potential. Ultimately, our vision is to establish a training centre for individuals of all ages, where they can access these essential life skills and entrepreneurial coaching, ensuring lasting impact for both individuals and their communities.
Driven by Purpose, Defined by Values:
The Peoples Centre of Excellence CIC has been created to leverage our existing knowledge and collaborate with many successful organisations and high profile people to tackle the wider issues affecting our young people and the professionals who support them. There is a desperate need for mental health mentors in every school, as we know that children in care and those who struggle to fit into mainstream education often face challenges that lead them into the criminal justice system and contribute to high NEET statistics. Research indicates that children who have a supportive, emotionally secure adult in their lives are more likely to succeed academically and socially (Children’s Society)
By focusing on developing power skills, we help young people build the life skills necessary to thrive beyond education. Our collaboration with various organisations aims to source funding through grants and awards to create future pilot programs. These initiatives will not only work to reduce the nearly 300,000 young people currently waiting on the CAMHS list but also support those who aspire to entrepreneurial lives rather than traditional academic paths. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2024 report, 51% of the 79 economies studied have shown a significant increase in early-stage entrepreneurship. In 22% of these economies, entrepreneurial activity more than doubled. (WHOP)
Looking ahead, our goal is to establish a training centre for all ages, with no barriers to entry. This centre will teach power skills that enhance the quality of life for individuals and the community. We believe that collaboration and connection are key to any human’s future success and happiness.
By addressing these critical areas and incorporating human aspects, critical incident training and CPD for adults, we are committed to creating a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people. This approach creates a greater ripple effect and impact as we train the trainers.
